Devine Receives Gun Sense Candidate Distinction

Devine is named by Moms Demand Action for common-sense gun safety work

The 2021 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate distinction has been awarded to Tameika Isaac Devine. The group thanked Devine for advocating for gun violence prevention and making a commitment to govern with gun safety in mind as an elected official.

On average, more than 100 Americans are shot and killed every day — and twice that many are wounded. Gun violence affects every community: 58 percent of American adults, or someone they care for, have experienced gun violence in their lifetime. Additionally, the pandemic has had a pronounced impact on gun violence, with homicides and unintentional shootings increasing to record levels last year according to Moms Demand Action.
